Ostatnio obmyślam różne wersje kosmetyczek. Bo z kosmetyczkami trochę tak jak z torebkami - nigdy za wiele! Dlatego sięgnęłam w weekend po kawał eko-skórki i zaczęłam ciąć. Wykorzystałam do tego też tasiemkę z babcinych zbiorów i koralowe guziki pozyskane ze spódnicy kupionej w second-handzie za 1zł. Guzików 6, kawał materiału w kratkę i tylko 1zł! Nie mogłam przejść obok takiej oferty obojętnie :)
Oczywiście nie byłabym sobą, gdybym nie dołożyła czegoś 'słitaśnego' - stąd środek w muchomorki i motylki :)
Przyznam tylko, że chorobnie kleiła się stopka do eko-skóry. Szyjące Niewiasty, macie jakiś patent, żeby temu zapobiec?
Recently, I've been trying to work with various versions of cosmetic bags. Personally, I believe that a girl can never have enough cosmeti bags - it's like with handbags. Or shoes. Or cosmetics. Or fabrics :P And the list goes on and on! So, this weekend I cut navy leatherette and made a simple cosmetic bag. I also used in it a fancy ribbon I inherited from my grandma and a set of coral buttons bought in a SH shop I pass by on my way to work. They were of course attached to a big skirt ;) A skirt has been already cut into pieces and is waiting for a second life. As it cost less than 50 cents, I just couldn't say no!
But, the bag wouldn't be the usual Tutinella without 'awww' factor - this is where the lining in mushrooms and butterflies came in handy :) Though I admit the leatherette didn't want to cooperate with the machine's foot - it was so sticky! Maybe you have some tips for sewing with leather etc?
You can put tape under the foot to make it flow easier.
ReplyDeleteThere are some special foot to work with leather (Bernina 52) but I am a bit disppointed with it. So far I like adding a piece of ribbon where I need to sew on leather and as much as possible I sew on the reverse of the leather.

Thank you so much - it already sounds good! I also bought a foot that was supposed to work good with leather, but it's no good. To be honest, I even thought on putting a piece of paper under the foot - will try this weekend both a tape under it and a ribbon - we'll see how it works :)

ReplyDeletehm, ja szyje torebki i przeważnie używam faux leather :) i przylepia mi się tylko do tych błyszczących skórek...
ReplyDeleteNo te muchomorki mnie rozwaliły...:-)śliczna jest,a niestety ja za krótko szyję by znać sztuczki szyciowe ale pomyślałam własnie o podklejeniu stopki jakąś taśmą... pozdróweczka!!
